2019- Silence as a transgressor of the mind

2019 -The simple space as transgression

Nàma-Rúpa: Mind and Matter

Exhibition held in the Obra Negra gallery (CDMX) in curatorship of Ixel Rion, for the project The tyranny of objects.

2019- Work in process

Work in progress arises from a need to explore the pictorial space in a different way, using the triangle as the main element, whose meaning entails multiple aspects according to its disciplinary context, but in my interest the symbolic charge on balance was the desire to address it , creating an analogy of mental space where different planes intersect, allowing observation from different angles.

The contemplation of light from silence (Continuation of the series: Intervalos) 2017-2018

Project based on the study of Buddhist meditation called Vipassana, which was the main tool used for the realization of these paintings. Its objective was to delve into a contemplation technique to investigate methods of self-knowledge and creation, building a direct relationship between contemporary art and the creative process. Each painting is presented in the project was conducted through a meditation, a previous time without movement, in order to make a painting based on an experience in Mindfulness, since the concept of voidness as the Buddhists call it. The unique materials used were bee wax and color pigments.

2013 – 2014 Spaces for contemplation

After many years of exploration in realistic painting, the need arises to work from the form, get out of the representation of the narrative image and start a new language from abstract constructions. All this with the parallelism of a personal search through a Buddhist meditation called Vipassana, which is learned in a 10 day retreat in isolation and total silence, meditating 8 hours a day, where all the attention is focused on the mind and in the sensations of the body.

2015- The new Pachucos

Tribute to the actor and singer Tin Tan, which arises for a television project called Artes Cruzadas (You can see the link in the news area of this page). Where they asked me to develop my vision before this character, who besides being a great comedian, for me is the first public figure to personify a social movement that happened between the border with Mexico and the USA in the 30s called Pachucos, which were against the racism that occurred in those years. They were padillas that characterized their costumes and their taste for the Mambo dance. For this reason I decided to make an analogy with the new Mexican generations.

2013- Ethograms

A series made for the exhibition titled: Ethograms: Animal codes, which explores the way we interact with animals nowadays. My contribution was to question the use of furs and animal skins on fashion accessories and meat consumption. Coincidentally my dog died; therefore I decided to pay her homage with a portrait.
