This series of paintings explores a variety of materials, including glass, acrylics, LED lights, and different types of paper. The work stems from an interest in questioning our systems of perception, both physical and mental, and reflecting on the mechanisms through which we construct what we understand as reality.
How can we know whether what we see is real or merely an illusion? Painting, as a visual language, is constructed through relationships of light, contrast, transparency, and color that produce effects capable of transforming our perception. With this in mind, I am interested in exploring these constructions beyond the supports and materials traditionally associated with painting, using elements that, from my perspective, are rooted in painterly thinking.
Rather than representing reality, I seek to create visual experiences that invite us to question how we see, what we believe we see, and the perspective from which we construct what we consider real.
