La red neuronal por defecto es un conjunto de regiones cerebrales que se activa durante estados de divagación mental, cuando los pensamientos fluyen espontáneamente. En contraste, al dirigir nuestra atención hacia una tarea, la actividad de esta red cambia y otras redes cerebrales participan en el procesamiento de la información.
A partir de esta reflexión, imaginé visualmente los pensamientos que surgen y desaparecen continuamente en nuestra mente. Esta serie de pinturas busca explorar tanto la naturaleza efímera del pensamiento como la posibilidad de materializar el acto de la atención, a través del barro y grafito.

The default mode network is a set of brain regions that becomes active during mind-wandering, when thoughts flow spontaneously. In contrast, when we direct our attention toward a task, activity in this network shifts, and other brain networks become involved in processing information.
Inspired by this reflection, I sought to create a visual representation of the thoughts that continuously arise and disappear in our minds. This series of paintings explores both the ephemeral nature of thought and the possibility of giving material form to the act of attention through clay and graphite.
