The Void as a Formal Exploration of Observation is a project supported by the National System of Creators (FONCA) in the field of painting. It seeks to explore the atomic and philosophical dimensions of the void through a reflection on our visual and cerebral systems: How do we see, both physically and mentally?
Our perception of reality is always open to question because of the mechanisms our brains use to construct it. The brain fills in gaps, makes inferences, organizes information, and yet we continue to trust it as the foundation of our experience of existence. We are all made of atoms, in which the void predominates.
I am interested in exploring painting through the subtle qualities of the material itself, particularly beeswax, a substance that carries its own symbolic associations with transparency, depth, and light. By creating details that remain imperceptible at first glance, I invite viewers to engage in a deeper act of observation, allowing them to discover how that which cannot be seen begins to emerge through sustained attention.
